The evangelist, the late Billy Graham, said this about prayer “We are to pray in times of adversity, lest we become faithless and unbelieving. We are to pray in times of prosperity, lest we become boastful and proud. We are to pray in times of danger, lest we become fearful and doubting. We are to pray in times of security, lest we become self-sufficient.”

During our 10:30 am Worship Service, the first ten minutes is devoted to prayer and reflection on the God we worship, Who He is, and what He does.

We want to pray for people. You can scan the QR code below and relay a prayer request. It will be shared with the Prayer Warriors of Emmanuel Church of Elgin.

We have a Prayer Box posted outdoors, by the entrance to our Worship Center, close to North Aldine Street and Larkin Avenue. There will be cards for passersby to write their prayer requests on and place them in our Prayer Box. Our Prayer Warriors will begin praying for these concerns.

In our church, not only is it important to pray, but also to be reminded that God answers prayers. We make slips of paper available to those who attend our church so that they can write down their prayer concerns and post them on our Prayer Board. As prayers are answered, they are stamped in large, red letters, PRAYER ANSWERED. We are encouraged constantly by the reminder that God does answer prayers.
