English as a Second Language Ministry
A tried and proven method of sharing the love of God and the good news of Jesus Christ

Every day in the news we are reminded how we are a nation of immigrants. One of the greatest gifts believers can give immigrants is the gift of teaching the English language. ESL classes are for everyone, regardless of nation of origin. We are beginning a new ESL ministry, and we invite others to join us for the teacher training so they, too, can offer this ministry in their neighborhood.

Dates will soon be announced.

We will begin sharing some of the things we are involved in which show mercy and compassion to our neighbors. The one outreach which is receiving our focus now is our Blessing Box. Located at the corner of Larkin Avenue and North Aldine Street, this unit (which is really a Rubbermaid shed) has shelving with food stored. People who are in need are invited to take, and people who have an abundance are invited to share.

A list of possible foods are:

Canned Vegetables including Potatoes Canned Fruits Canned Meats especially like Tuna, Ham Crackers Cereals Peanut Butter Spaghetti Spaghetti Sauce Canned Soups Ramen Noodles Boxed Pasta like Macaroni etc. Syrup Pancake Mix Oats Things that can be opened without a can opener would also be helpful.
